Consider Jesus
As a church that believes God has called us to be a Safe Harbor for people who need a place to come in out of the storms of life, we’d like to offer you an opportunity to meet Jesus, and to develop your own relationship with Him.
Unfortunately, we all live messed-up lives in a very messed-up world. That is a sad truth that none of us can escape. We are rebels at heart, and we’ll rebel against any authority that we sense opposes us getting our own way. Our being so messed-up (God calls it “sin.”) will follow us throughout our lives, and that makes it impossible for us to get to know God. That is really bad news.
But, God offers you Good News.
A sentence from the Bible that you may have heard before says it all: “For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” - John 3:16
Another piece of Good News is that God’s love is His gift to you. You can’t earn it, you can’t buy it… but you can receive it by faith. In the privacy of your heart, you can meet Jesus.
Would you like to talk to God about your need for some Good News? You can—it doesn’t require any special language. You can use your own words. But, if you know that you’re at the end of trying to “make it” to God on your own efforts, then speak to God right now with a prayer something like this:
Lord Jesus, I receive you and your free gift of forgiveness. I believe that when you died on the cross, you gave up your life in my place, and paid for all of my sin and rebellion with your pure life’s blood. I also believe that, after you died, you were raised to new life, and that I can enjoy your new life right now. I commit myself to follow you, and I want to know you are in my life. Jesus, come in and lead me to know you. Thank you, my Lord!
If you asked God to forgive you, if you trusted in Jesus as your savior, and you would like us to correspond with you, let us you of your decision by emailing us: pastor@pocassetbaptist.org
Next… you’ll want to grow and begin to live a life that has Jesus at its center.THE CHRISTIAN LIFE
